POETRY

I am working (quite slowly) on writing, editing and professionally publishing my poetry. As links become available, I will share them. In the meantime, below are two examples of unpublished poems that I wrote.

WHAT NATURE KNOWS
The sidewalk was lonelier
With our presence,
Walking side by side
In hushed voices,
The snow crunching
Beneath our feet.

//

The stars sighed
As they looked
Down at us.
They are human
And yet
They still act like
They are so small.

//

The trees wept
At our silence,
Biding their time
Until next season,
Hoping that we
Might awaken then.

//

The moon,
She glowed, as she always does,
Knowing, as she always does,
Loving, as she always does,
That the shadows rise and fall,
And the light always returns,
Regardless of the beings.

THE OCEAN’S LULLABY
I wept at the edge
Of the ocean
That day.
It was the day
I first met the sea
In person.

Her love
Is so vast
And so complete;
I hadn’t been held
So deeply
Since I was
A baby.

All I could do
Was cry
In her embrace,
A silence enveloping me
As her waves
Sang a long-overdue
Lullaby to my heart.
